Mission Royale Active Adult (55+) Overview

A mirror image of Sundance Active Adult in Buckeye, the Mission Royale active adult community in Casa Grande also caters to retirees seeking a quality 55+ golf retirement community with nice basic amenities and a more budget-friendly, low-key lifestyle than some of the bigger, more extravagant active adult communities.

Offering a great location, right across the street from a new major shopping center, Mission Royale by Meritage Homes is next to I-10 and about an hour away from either Phoenix or Tucson.

Mission Royale contains an active adult neighborhood and a family neighborhood. The active adult clubhouse and amenities are only for residents of the 55+ neighborhood. The family neighborhood has a great park and water park, which is great for the grand kids, as the active adult residents and their guests have full access to the park.

Mission Royale 55+ Amenities

At 15,000 square feet, the Mission Royale clubhouse is smaller in scale than some of the big-brand communities that offer clubhouses that exceed 2 or 3 times that size, but Mission Royale caters to those looking for something without so much glitz and glamour in favor of affordability and friendliness.

Although smaller in scale, Mission Royale still offers everything you need for a fun and active retirement, and lots of ways to meet friends and neighbors:

  • Sport Courts: Tennis Courts, Pickleball Courts
  • Pools: Resort-style swimming pool, lap pool, and spa – all are heated
  • Fitness Center: Fitness Center with modern aerobics and strength training equipment
  • Game & Recreation Rooms: Billiards Room, Card Rooms, Library
  • Ballroom/auditorium: There are many community gatherings, dances and performances sponsored by the community.

Check the HOA’s website for a full list of the numerous clubs and activities. You’re sure to find something that attracts your interest.

Mission Royale 55+ Real Estate

The new homes currently being offered at Mission Royale are also the same floorplans currently being offered at Province in Maricopa, but the names of the models are different at each community. They are in their second phase of building here, so this is a different set of floorplans than were available in Phase I.

They still have new homes available, offering seven two-bedroom plans, ranging from 1,214 to 2,032 square feet. Base prices for new homes range from $150,000 to $197,000 and include the new super energy efficient packages that are now standard on all homes in all of the Meritage active adult communities.

Base prices do not include lot premiums, upgrades, design center options, etc. On average, most people will spend an additional 12% – 17% over “base price” for design options and lot premiums for their new home. Lot premiums for a golf course lot will average around $30,000 – $60,000.

Mission Royale Golf

The Mission Royale Golf Course winds through the community and is usually in good condition. They offer 12-month, 6-month, 3-month passes at very affordable rates.

The Greg Nash designed course offers four sets of tee boxes for players of all skill levels, and you’ll find the wide fairways and flat layout very forgiving.

The golf club is located right next to the active adult clubhouse, so after a fun game of cards or an invigorating swim, you can head right over to their full-service restaurant for a bite to eat and a cool drink.

About the Casa Grande Area

Casa Grande is about half way between Phoenix and Tucson – about one hour from each city. The drive to either major city is a straight drive on Interstate 10.

Casa Grande was previously known as the half-way point between Phoenix and Tucson, with some outlet malls, but it has seen quite a bit of growth over the past few years. Now, you’ll find movie theaters, stores and restaurants at the new Promonade Mall, which is literally right across the street from the entrance to Mission Royale.
