Nestled in the lovely mountain foothills of Henderson, Nevada, just 12 miles from McCarran International Airport and the fabulous Las Vegas Strip, is the beautiful master-planned community of Anthem. Anthem contains two active adult communities, both developed by Del Webb: Sun City Anthem and Solera at Anthem.
Sun City Anthem homes are chiseled into the natural desert landscape about 800 feet above the Las Vegas Valley. The higher elevation provides views of beautiful natural desert terrain by day and spectacular views of the glittering Las Vegas "Strip" and the surrounding Valley at night.
Sun City Anthem was developed between 1998 and 2008 and contains 7,164 homes. Virtually all of the community is non-gated, with the exception of one neighborhood.
With only 234 of the 7,164 homes, Pinnacle Village is the only gated neighborhood in Sun City Anthem. Located virtually within walking distance of the main Anthem Community Centers, the convenience and additional privacy and security make this neighborhood more desirable to many prospective Sun City Anthem buyers.
Sun City Anthem is one of the few true “golf course” retirement communities in the Las Vegas area. Residents enjoy special rates at The Raven Golf Club, a Troon-managed course. The Raven offers two Billy Casper/Greg Nash regulation-length courses with fabulous scenic desert and “Strip” views.
As is the case with most major active adult communities, the heart of the community is the community recration centers, and the bigger the better! Sun City Anthem currently has two Community Centers: Anthem Center and Independence Center. They are also planning to add a third 20,000 sq ft recreation center.
At approximately 77,000 square feet, Anthem Center is the largest recreation center. For casual relaxation, residents enjoy lounges with luxurious furnishings and panoramic vistas of the Valley below. More formal occasions are held in the spacious ballroom. Here residents can enjoy a state-of-the-art fitness center, indoor lap pool, an indoor walking track, performance halls, craft and hobby rooms, an on-site restaurant, Wellness Center, and much more! With over 80 hobby/activity clubs to join, there’s bound to be people you have something in common with. Outdoor amenities include the pool, spa, tennis courts, bocce courts, areas for outdoor concerts, and more.
Independence Center is approximately 36,000 square feet and contains many of the meeting rooms, card rooms, and “party” rooms. It also is home to the new, 300-seat Freedom Hall and Performing Arts Center, and a fitness center where classes focus on stretching and yoga-type activities.
Homes at Sun City Anthem are as varied as the residents. Deb Webb built 31 different models over the ten-year development period, ranging from about 1,100 sq ft to over 3,100 sq ft, so there’s a big selection and a wide range of prices. Homes with the best views come with the highest premiums.

The Raven Golf Club was designed by Bill Casper/Greg Nash and is managed by Troon. It features two regulation-length courses, the Lexington and the Concord. Although the club is public, Sun City Anthem residents enjoy discounted rates and priority tee times.
