Province in Maricopa, AZ is one of the most beautiful active adult communities in the Greater Phoenix area. With nearly 50 acres of lakes, over 125 acres of landscaped parks and open space, and over 30 percent of the master plan dedicated to open space, Province gives residents room to breathe. With miles of lakes and water canals meandering throughout the community, you can find homes with "waterfront" back yards. These lots are in high demand though, and will generally carry a premium of about $50,000 - $60,000 more than regular lots.
Miles of hiking trails wind through the community. The common spaces of Province are purposely designed to bring people ages 55+ together and allow for gatherings, large and small. The loads of amenities support healthful activities both indoors and out. The stunning clubhouse looks like an Italian Villa and contains state-of-the art facilities with old-world charm.
Province, is a marvel of modern development. The water features are actually an environmental resource to the surrounding Sonoran ecosystem. The residences integrate leading edge technology for enhanced Internet connectivity and other electronic services, security systems, and every device for comfort and convenience.
Engle Homes completed about 895 of the 2,200 available homesites at Province in Maricopa before filing for bankruptcy in January 2008. In October 2009, Meritage Homes purchased the remaining 1,300 undeveloped lots out of foreclosure and will complete the community with a new set of floorplans. Meritage offers a choice of nine different floorplans, ranging from 1,214 sq ft to 2,419 sq ft., and models four of the nine plans.
