Apache Wells is a 55+ Community located in East Mesa Arizona surrounded by beautiful mountain views and close to shopping, dining, and other conveniences. Apache Wells is about 20 minutes from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, and also about 20 minutes from the Saguaro Lake recreation area for boating and hiking enthusiasts.
Housing options consist of single family homes, patio homes, townhomes, condos, and mobile homes where the homes and the land are owned by the residents.
The patio homes and townhomes have their own clubhouses, separate from the Apache Wells Country Club clubhouse that sells memberships only to Apache Wells residents.
Apache Wells was established in 1962 with the opening of the Pro-shop and Restaurant, but some of the patio homes were built as recently as 1997. Most of the mobile homes are older and will need substantial updating to meet the demands of today's buyers.
In the 1980s there were 485 individuals that purchased the golf course rather than let it be sold to a large corporation. In 1989 Apache Wells became a 55+ community. Now the Country Club has 485 memberships available - each household is one membership, regardless of the number of residents - and memberships are only open to Apache Wells homeowners.
The Country Club just completed a brand new clubhouse. They completely tore the old clubhouse down and started from the ground up. The new clubhouse is beautiful and contains both the amenities and golf club as well as a full service restaurant.
