A small retirement neighborhood of single-family homes and patio homes located within the larger multi-generational master-planned community of Ahwatukee Foothills. The Ahwatukee Recreation Center (ARC) opened its doors in 1974 to serve the retirement area of a community developed by Presley Company of Arizona. Presley had the concept of a separate retirement area within a typical community. Ahwautkee Recreation Center is for residents of the active adult neighborhoods. It is not open to Ahwatukee residents outside of the active adult neighborhoods. Membership in the Recreation Center is voluntary and the fee is $450/year per household to use the recreation center facilities.
Ahwatukee has two regulation courses and one very challenging executive course that has been rated as one of the top 10 executive courses in the country:
